Elizabeth (Liz) Burroughs hails from Fairfield, Connecticut but is a recent graduate from William and Mary with a BA in economics and environmental studies. After working, volunteering, and being a member of many non profit organizations, Liz is thrilled to be working with the BPEI team to create this visionary project. After BPEI, she hopes to continue work with nonprofit management through graduate school and into the future. Liz enjoys sailing, large earrings, art history, Indian food, and spending time with her friends, family and cat named Kitty.

Andrew Burton, was born SLC Utah, grew up in La and San Francisco, and was aged like a fine wine in Virginia. He graduated from William and Mary with a BS in Biology, which he hopes will someday lead him to the field of tropical conservation biology. Someday. When he has free time he plays his bass and bassoon and draws nonsensical cartoons. He is also learning how to play the charanga, but the frets are too close together.
Jon Davidow, born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2006 with a BA in Religious Studies. After scouring the globe for a suitable place to transplant himself, which brought him to and from Israel, India, Arizona, Switzerland, Northern and Southern California, to name a few attempted locales, he finds himself drawn home again, down in ol' Virginny and the embracing warmth (and humidity) of the Southeast. Jon's interests include getting his hands dirty, experiencing the sweet life, and smelling like a campfire.

Brenna Muller grew up in Guilford, Connecticut and graduated from
Connecticut College with a double major in Government (with a focus on
Environmental Policy) and Music. Brenna studied sustainable
development for a semester in Costa Rica with the School for Field
Studies, where she met Gina Sobel, her connection to the Back Porch
crew.  Brenna's interests include listening to and playing music,
running for fun, and bicycling to get places.

Gina Sobel graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2007 with a double major in music and environmental studies. She has worked with the Sierra Student Coalition for three years, most recently as a director for one of their summer leadership development programs, and served as the facilitator of William and Mary's chapter of the Student Evironmental Action Coalition. Gina has worked at Potomac Vegetable Farm in Vienna, VA the past four summers and has developed close relationships with most of the tomatoes there. Her other great love is her band, the Rock River Gypsies.

Virginia Walters is the brains behind the brawn. A born activist, Virginia graduated from the College of William and Mary with a BA in Women's Studies, holding court in some of the most prestegious and important campus organizations around. Over a pint with Gina at the local watering hole way back when, Virginia began developing the Back Porch Energy Initiative into what she loves: a worthy cause to participate in evolving and to share her enthusiasm for. Virginia loves, well, everything. Seriously.
